1578 machine taps, with a spiral point for threading holes all the way through the workpiece, have versions for UNC and UNF thread forms and are manufactured to ANSI standards. For superior performance and longer tool life, they are made from premium High Speed Steel, whilst the bright finish ensures clean and accurate threads by preventing workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edges of the tool. 1578 machine taps are application products for creating threads to suit helicoil inserts in many non-ferrous materials such as aluminum.
