1591 application taps for threading higher strength materials including steel have a 40 degree helix, heavy duty spiral flute design, ideal for threading blind holes. Available in UNC and UNF sizes, the High Speed Steel used in manufacture provides superior performance coupled with a longer tool life. 1591 UB machine taps conform to ANSI standards and have a steam oxide finish which prevents workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edges of the tool, ensuring clean and accurate threads.
